retired hurt after a bold century, bolstering India’s lead over England to 322 as the tourists faced a batting collapse in the third Test on Saturday.
By the end of day three in Rajkot, India had reached 196-2 in their second innings.
Shubman Gill
(65) and nightwatchman Kuldeep Yadav (three) were at the crease.
With Ashwin absent due to a family emergency, India were down to 10 players.
Devdutt Padikkal substituted in as a fielder.
Jaiswal, battling a back issue, retired hurt on 104, while Rajat Patidar was dismissed for a duck from 10 balls.

led the bowling attack with figures of 4-84, helping bowl out England for 319 after they collapsed from 299-5.

fell early on 19, Jaiswal anchored the innings alongside Gill before accelerating.
Jaiswal’s aggressive strokes, including a six and two fours off James Anderson, showcased his prowess against both pace and spin.
His century, celebrated with fervor, marked his third in just his seventh Test match. He leads the series in batting with 435 runs, aided by a strong partnership with Gill.
Rohit, who scored 131 in the first innings, fell to a Joe Root delivery, with England successfully reviewing the dismissal.

‘s 153 and skipper Ben Stokes’ 41 were notable contributions, but England’s innings faltered in the second session.
Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja dismantled England’s tail, with assistance from Kuldeep.
Despite Duckett’s aggressive innings, England succumbed quickly after resuming at 207-2, losing two wickets within six deliveries.
