Animals have roamed the Earth since time immemorial, and some of them lived here even before humans came into being. And so, here we mention 8 gigantic and humongous animals that roamed on Earth.

Megalodon

The Megalodon was a prehistoric shark that lived on Earth millions of years ago. It was one of the largest predators to have ever existed, has huge fossils, and back in the day had massive jaws filled with sharp teeth.

Titanoboa

The Titanoboa was one of the scariest, and most humongous snakes found in the rainforests of South America. It lived about 60 million years ago, and is thought to weigh easily over 1000-3000 kgs.

Argentinosaurus

Another massive dinosaur of the ancient times was the Argentinosaurus which lived about 90 million years ago. And one thing to note about the Argentinosaurus is that it was a herbivore dinosaur.

Quetzalcoatlus

Quetzalcoatlus was a flying reptile that lived around 70 million years ago. It had enormous wings that were about 9 metres in length and is known as the largest flying animal of the ancient times.

Paraceratherium

Paraceratherium was a giant, hornless rhino that lived around 34 to 23 million years ago. It was one of the largest land animals, about 16 feet tall in height, and weighed over 18000 kgs.

Leedsichthys was a prehistoric fish that lived around 165 million years ago, and was a part of the Jurassic era. The Leedsichthys was around 17 metres long, and is considered to be the largest known bony fish.
