, before rising to fame as Bollywood’s chart-topping artist. However, their marriage ended in divorce after approximately a decade, with Shalini accusing him of domestic violence. In his Netflix documentary, ‘Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous’, the singer addresses his separation and the allegations made against him and his family. Shalini had also worked as his manager.
When asked about his divorce, Singh explained that due to a signed MoU, he couldn’t discuss the matter publicly. However, he wished his ex-wife, Shalini, all the best in her future. Reflecting on life’s cycles, he emphasised his belief in the idea that everything eventually comes full circle. “We’ve both signed an MoU, so we can’t talk about it. I wish her a great life ahead. What goes around comes around,” the musician stated.

His sister described the period as a challenging time for their family, stating that it was hard to prove their side of the story. She mentioned that nobody would believe them due to the external controversies and difficulties they faced.
Honey’s sister recalled an incident during a US tour where his ex-wife allegedly forced him to perform despite clear signs of mental illness and vocal refusals. She recounts receiving a distressing message from Honey, who pleaded for help, saying, “Mujhe please bacha lo, gudiya mujhe please bacha le” (Please save me, doll, please save me). After attempting to contact Shalini, his sister was told to persuade him to perform. “I was trying to reach out to Shalini. She said, ‘He has to do this show. You convince him to do this show’,” his sister shared.
Despite his requests for assistance and a period of three hours with no contact, she was later informed that Honey had been hospitalised with stitches on his head.
