Pankaj Tripathi, who starred in the blockbuster ‘
Stree 2
‘, is not overly excited about the film’s success, which has made it one of the highest-grossing films of the year. He believes it’s important not to let success go to one’s head, emphasizing the need for humility and focus on storytelling.
Talking to Hindustan Times, Tripathi expressed joy over the success of ‘Stree 2’, noting that it’s remarkable for a film with a modest budget to achieve such blockbuster status. However, he emphasised the importance of staying grounded, stating, “Par ye success se aapka dimaag kharab nahi
hona chahiye
. Ek thehraav rehna chahiye.” He also discussed factors contributing to the film’s success, highlighting the need for unique storytelling in franchise films.
Tripathi stated that being part of the ‘Stree’ franchise significantly contributed to the film’s success. He noted that the joy audiences experienced from the first installment played a crucial role in drawing them to theaters for the sequel right away. Unlike typical films where viewers wait for reviews, franchise films enjoy immediate trust from the audience.
The actor shared an interesting anecdote about the filming of ‘Stree 2’, revealing that during the production of the first ‘Stree’, producers promised him a bonus if the film performed well. That target was surpassed in just four days. He was unaware that a similar clause had been included in his contract for ‘Stree 2’, as he typically doesn’t read agreements for producer Dinesh Vijan’s films. Remarkably, the bonus figure for the sequel was exceeded in just two days.
