The 30-hour Easter truce declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to expire tonight, with no plans for an extension, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed to TASS. The ceasefire, which began at 6:00 p.m. Moscow time on April 19, was announced during a meeting between Putin and Russian Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov. It was intended to observe the Orthodox Easter period and temporarily ease hostilities. When asked whether the ceasefire would be prolonged, Peskov stated, “There have been no other orders,” signaling that fighting may resume once the truce ends at midnight.
