Sara Ali Khan recently shared insights into her upbringing in a secular family, expressing her belief in standing up for what is right. During an interview, Sara conveyed that she doesn’t feel perturbed when questioned about her religious beliefs, as she considers anything authentic to her core identity unworthy of defense. She acknowledged having been facetious in the past about her presentation but has now chosen to refrain from such behavior. Speaking to Galatta India, Sara emphasized her roots, stating, “I was born to a secular family, in a sovereign, secular, democratic republic.” She highlighted her inclination towards not unnecessarily vocalizing injustices but asserted her commitment to standing against wrongdoing, whether it affects her or others. Sara admitted to feeling disheartened when her work is criticized by the audience but emphasized that her personal choices remain off-limits. Addressing queries about her ‘surname’ and ‘family tree’, Sara asserted her autonomy over her religious beliefs, food preferences, and travel choices. She firmly stated, “My religious beliefs, my food choices, how I decide to go to the airport, that’s my decision, and I’ll never apologize for that.” Sara, the daughter of actors Amrita Singh and Saif Ali Khan, remains resolute in asserting her individuality amidst public scrutiny.
