The BJP’s Lieutenant Governor has ordered an investigation into another alleged case against former Delhi minister Satyendra Jain. According to AAP Chief Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar, the case involves a claim that Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Central Government company, gave a bribe of ₹7 crores to Satyendra Jain. The controversy arose from the slow installation of 1,40,000 CCTVs in Delhi, a project for which BEL had submitted the lowest bid. Due to delays, Satyendra Jain had issued multiple notices to BEL, with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also voicing concerns about the delays. Jain eventually issued a show cause notice to BEL, questioning why a fine of ₹16 crores should not be imposed for the delays. Following this, the CCTVs were installed on time throughout Delhi.Kakkar indicated that if BEL indeed gave a bribe, there should also be an investigation against the Central Government and BEL.
