‘
Crew
‘ starring Tabu,
Kareena Kapoor Khan
and
Kriti Sanon
opened to some good reviews on Friday and this entertainer got a thumbs up from netizens. Though, many also thought, the script could be more crisp or it could have more punches, by and large, everyone has found it immensely entertaining! That has also resulted in a good
box office
opening day for the film.
In India, it made Rs 8.75 crore, though it managed to make a worldwide gross of Rs 20 crore which is the highest on Day 1 for any female lead movie.
As the cast and crew dropped this news, many congratulated and lauded the team!
Alia Bhatt
also showers love ‘Crew’ as wrote, “This crew smashed the BO! Congratulations to these outstanding women on and off camera,” wrote Alia as she tagged Kareena, Kriti, Tabu, producers
Rhea Kapoor
and Ekta R Kapoor.
Though, producer Rhea Kapoor’s earlier film with Kareena Kapoor Khan, also starring Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania, had made more than Rs 10 crore in India on its opening day. But that was the pre-pandemic era. One has not seen many female-led movies smash at the box office in the post-pandemic time, except for some like Alia’s ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and recently Yami Gautam starrer ‘Article 370’.
Hence, ‘Crew’ is being lauded for bringing in numbers because the lockdown had put a huge dent on the box office performance of female-led movies!
‘Crew’ is directed by Rajesh Kannan.
