What do you think about Allu Arjun’s statement after his release from jail?
The actor was detained by the Hyderabad Police on Friday with regards to the stampede tragedy. A woman died in the stampede which took place at the premiere show of the film on December 4 at Sandhya theatre. Allu was arrested as the victim’s husband filed an FIR. After his arrest, his lawyer applied for bail which was granted by the Telangana High Court. However, despite the court orders, the police did not release Arjun last night. He was granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000.
The actor has finally been released on Monday morning. He came out of the jail from the back door and was seen heading home in his car. Allu Arjun’s father reached jail at around 6 30 am on Saturday morning, post which the actor was released after completing all the procedures. Fans were protesting outside the jail on Friday night and they all must now be having a sigh of relief. Due to excessive crowd and for security reasons, Allu headed home from the other door of the Chanchalguda Jail.
While he has been released, his lawyer Ashok Reddy criticised the jail authorities for not complying with the court’s orders. He told the media present outside the Jail, thus also confirming that the actor has been released for now, according to a video shared by ANI, “You should question the government and the department why they have not released the accused. The High Court order is very specific. Forthwith, the moment you (prison authorities) receive the order, (they should) release him. Despite the clear order, they have not released, they have to answer. This is an illegal detention. We will take legal steps,” he said.
The lawyer said that the court’s order was to immediately release him, yet the police did not comply to it. Thus, due to the jail formalities, the actor spent the night in Jail and has been released at around 7 am in the morning on Saturday. The lawyer was further asked if Allu Arjun was comfortable in the jail during the night. Reacting to it, he said, “I don’t know that. How will I know that.”
The investigation on the matter will continue.
