APPS Group 2 selection process, exam pattern
The APPSC Group 2 exam in 2024 is conducted in two stages: Prelims and Mains. The Preliminary exam serves as a screening stage to shortlist candidates for the Mains. It consists of 150 multiple-choice questions divided into General Studies and Mental Ability sections, to be completed within 150 minutes. Each incorrect answer results in a deduction of one-third of the marks allotted to that question.
The Mains exam, on the other hand, consists of three papers, each carrying equal weightage. All questions in the Mains are objective-type, set at a level equivalent to a bachelor’s degree standard. Each correct answer earns one mark, and there is a penalty of one-third marks for every incorrect answer.
