Boney Kapoor jokes about Arjun being adopted

Producer

Boney Kapoor

had some fun at the trailer launch for his upcoming movie

Maidaan

starring

Ajay Devgn

. During the event,

Boney

showered praise on the film’s director

Amit Sharma

while also jokingly referring to his own son

Arjun Kapoor

as the adopted one in the family.
In a light-hearted moment, Boney quipped, “Amit, I’ve known for quite some time. He’s my real son, and Arjun (Kapoor) is probably an adopted son. Ye

Tevar

se chala aa raha hai (He’s been with me since Tevar (2015)), but of course, he gives me all the love as a son, and I try to do my best as a father.”
Boney also talked about how things don’t always go as planned in movies. He said, “Sometimes things end up well, and sometimes they go the wrong way. I can work according to my capacity. He looks happy as of now, at least on the face of it.”

After the trailer launch of the movie, Boney Kapoor’s daughter Janhvi

Kapoor

praised her father’s dedication to cinema. Janhvi posted the trailer and wrote a heartfelt message alongside it which reads, “Papa always says there’s no easy or safe or practical way of making cinema that can really mean something. You cannot make art on an excel sheet. It’s always no guts no glory with him. All in or nothing. It can be scary; and more often than not extremely risky- but he feels only then will you have the chance, still a very slim one- to really make something that can stand the test of everything- that can give people an experience like never before. That has been the attempt with Maidaan. That has been Amit sir and my fathers vision.”

Maidaan, which stars Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Gajraj Rao and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh, is set to release in theatres in April on the occasion of Eid. It revolves around the life of

Syed Abdul Rahim

, who brought pride to India through football.
In 2020, Boney Kapoor had to dismantle the film set due to the lockdown imposed to curb the novel coronavirus pandemic. In May 2021, the set of Maidaan was destroyed by Cyclone Tauktae.
