VADODARA:
Ill-fitting
marriage attire can ruin celebratory mood and inflict mental anguish for a person attending the event, the
consumer commission
in Vadodara observed while ordering a boutique to pay Rs 5,000 to a woman for the agony, reported.
Ahmedabad resident
Deepika Dave
ordered stitching of three blouses and paid Rs 2,700 to boutique La Vichitra.
When she collected the blouses and tried them, she found the fitting improper, and asked the boutique to procure new blouse pieces and stitch them properly. The owners, however, refused.
Dave approached Vadodara District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, which observed that since the blouse wasn’t stitched well, it marred Dave’s wedding excitement and caused her mental trauma.
