How to Access the CAT 2024 Answer Key
Candidates who appeared for the CAT 2024 exam can access the answer key through the Objection Management link available on the official CAT website. To download the provisional answer key, candidates must log in using their CAT application ID and password. The Objection Management window opened at 6:00 PM on December 3, 2024, and will close at 11:55 PM on December 5, 2024.
Challenging the Answer Key

For candidates who believe there are discrepancies in the answer key, IIM Calcutta has provided a window for challenging the answers. Candidates can raise objections by paying a fee of Rs. 1200 per question. The CAT Centre will review all objections raised and make necessary amendments before releasing the final answer key.

CAT 2024 Exam Overview
On November 29, 2024, IIM Calcutta also released the CAT 2024 response sheet, allowing candidates to compare their responses with the official answer key. With both documents, candidates can estimate their likely scores ahead of the official results.

CAT 2024 was conducted on November 24, 2024, across 389 centres in 170 cities in India. The exam had a total of 68 questions, divided into three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) with 24 questions, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) with 22 questions, and Quantitative Ability (QA) with 22 questions. The exam lasted 120 minutes, with additional time for PwD candidates.
Candidate Participation and Attendance
Out of the 3.29 lakh candidates who registered for CAT 2024, 2.93 lakh appeared for the exam, marking an attendance rate of around 89%. Among the candidates who appeared, 1.07 lakh were female, 1.86 lakh were male, and 5 were transgender.
Final Results and Further Steps
The final results of CAT 2024 will be released by the second week of January 2025 after evaluating all objections raised during the current window. Candidates who perform well in the exam will be eligible for admission to the flagship and executive programs offered by the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).
