Celina on being trolled for her breastfeeding pic

Prior to International Women’s Day, former actor

Celina Jaitly

utilized her

Instagram

platform to share a heartfelt letter discussing one of her most

trolled

photographs. The image captured her wearing a swimsuit while nursing one of her

twins

, with the other nestled close beside her.
Now, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Celina expressed her disdain for trolling, describing it as a cowardly act that thrives on anonymity. She recounted being subjected to derogatory remarks ranging from being called a ‘witch’ to a ‘whale’, primarily due to a photograph where she wore a bikini while

breastfeeding

one of her twins, with the other placed beside her.

Celina also clarified that babies don’t always prefer being held; they enjoy kicking their legs and feeling free. With twins, parents are often alternating between their needs. In the particular moment captured in the photograph, one of her twins had just finished feeding and was content in her lap, while the other, Winston, wanted to stretch out, kick about, and bask in the sunshine to absorb vitamin D.

Celina Jaitly reacts strongly to SC’s verdict on same-sex marriage, says ‘denial of rights to LGBTQ+ individuals is discrimination’

In response to the trolling of the photograph, Jaitly expressed her initial disbelief. She acknowledged the challenge of receiving criticism about her parenting, despite her love and dedication to her children. As someone who values openness and receptiveness, she found the trolling not only hurtful but also viewed it as an attack on women who strive to maintain their individuality while embracing motherhood.

Despite feeling the urge to retaliate against the trolls, Jaitly made a conscious decision to remain silent and deprive them of attention. She prioritized her role as a new mother and especially as a mother to twins, preserving her energy solely for her babies. Although she experienced internal pain, she drew strength from her upbringing as the daughter of a soldier and war hero, instilling in her the resilience to thrive in any situation.
