China seethes over U.S. as it backs India’s claims on Arunachal Pradesh, says “Arunachal has been ours since ancient times”

For the past several weeks, China has consistently reiterated its ownership claims on Arunachal Pradesh. Following a confrontation between EAM Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian, the Defense Ministry escalated hostilities. In a recent development, China provoked India by asserting, “Zangnan has been China’s territory since ancient times.”China’s Defense Spokesperson Wu Qian rebuffed India’s stance, questioning the origins of the so-called ‘Arunachal Pradesh.’ This response from China came after the U.S. recognized Zangnan as Indian territory in the form of “Arunachal Pradesh.”The U.S. has also opposed China’s expanding territorial claims through military or civilian means across the Line of Actual Control (LAC), further escalating tensions with China. Wu emphasized that the U.S. has a ‘terrible’ track record of fueling disputes between countries for selfish gains.
