Counter attacks on Sanatan Dharma: PM Modi to ministers

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday asked his ministers to counter any attacks on

Sanatan Dharma

with facts, Times Now reported quoting sources.
The Prime Minister made these remarks while interacting with the council of ministers ahead of the G20 summit in New Delhi.
Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin, has come under severe criticism for his remarks last week hat Sanatan Dharma should not merely be opposed but “eradicated”.
Udhayanidhi’s remarks sparked a massive controversy across the nation with several BJP leaders and Hindu priests strongly criticising his statement.

The BJP has demanded an apology from the DMK leader. Despite the controversy, Udhayanidhi has doubled down on his remarks, saying that he will “repeat them again and again” since he was not targeting any particular community.
Meanwhile, leaders from the saffron party have also blamed the INDIA bloc for Udhayanidhi’s remarks, claiming such an agenda was discussed during the recent meeting that was held in Mumbai.
