NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (
NTA
) is set to conduct the
CUET UG 2024
exam from May 15 to 18, adopting a hybrid mode to accommodate 13.4 lakh students. This year, the CUET exam will take place in 379 cities, including 26 locations outside India. The exam, comprising 15 subjects, will be administered in the OMR format across tripled exam centers.
Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates are strictly prohibited from carrying items such as instruments, geometry or pencil boxes, handbags, purses, paper or stationery, food or water, mobile phones, calculators, cameras, or any metallic or electronic gadgets into the examination hall.
Extensive frisking using highly sensitive metal detectors will be conducted at examination centers, and candidates are advised to adhere to the following guidelines:
Candidates should report at least two hours before the last reporting time for thorough frisking, especially if they are wearing articles or objects of faith.
Only the following items are permitted inside the examination venue: admit card with self-declaration, a simple transparent ballpoint pen, additional photograph for the attendance sheet, authorized photo ID, PwBD certificate (if applicable), personal transparent water bottle, and sugar tablets/fruits for diabetic candidates.
Candidates must adhere to the prescribed dress code, which includes wearing light clothes with long sleeves prohibited, slippers or sandals with low heels permitted, and shoes not allowed. Any deviation from the
dress code
requires specific approval from the NTA.
What to Carry
Candidates should carry the following essential items to the examination venue:
• Admit card with self-declaration
• Transparent ballpoint pen
• Additional photograph for attendance sheet
• Authorized photo ID
• PwBD certificate (if applicable)
• Personal transparent water bottle
• Sugar tablets/fruits (for diabetic candidates)
Dress Code
Candidates are instructed to follow the following dress code while appearing for CUET (UG) – 2024:
• Light clothes with long sleeves are not permitted. However, if candidates come in cultural/customary dress at the Examination Centre, they should report at least an hour before the last reporting time for proper frisking.
• Slippers, and sandals with low heels are permitted. Shoes are not allowed.
• In case of any deviation required due to unavoidable (medical, etc.) circumstances, specific approval of NTA must be taken.
Barred Items
• Textual material (printed or written), bits of paper, geometry/pencil box, plastic pouch
• Calculator, pen, scale, writing pad, pen drives, eraser, log table, electronic pen/scanner
• Communication devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, microphone, pager, health band
• Wallet, goggles, handbags, belt, cap
• Watch/wristwatch, bracelet, camera
• Ornaments/metallic items
• Food items, water bottles, any other item that could be used for unfair means
It is imperative for candidates to follow NTA’s instructions meticulously to ensure the fair conduct of the examination. Any deviation from the guidelines may result in inconvenience or disqualification.
