SAN JOSE: South Korean tech company Samsung Electronics is readying for a giant leap in Artificial Intelligence (AI) functions with its premium smartphone models of Galaxy S25 series, which was launched on Wednesday. Aiming to regain ground in the Indian market after losing its numero uno position last year in face of stiff Chinese challenge and rival Apple’s increasing dominance, J B Park, president & CEO, Samsung SouthWest Asia, said that the new Galaxy S25 series will be the AI companion of consumers in India and the world.
He promised a natural, intuitive and seamless approach at every touchpoint of its advanced AI ecosystem. Park said that while Samsung’s Bengaluru unit will house the company’s biggest R&D centre outside South Korea, the Noida hub will manufacture the flagship Galaxy S25 neo series. Also, the tech giant plans to expand its base in smaller towns, with the CEO claiming that 2025 will usher in the ultimate AI experience for India.
“After the internet, AI is the next big revolution and human simulation technology will go mainstream soon. AI will be a commercialised product, which will soon be accessed by 85% of the non-premium segment or ordinary consumers. AI intervention will happen not just in smartphones, but also in wellness and healthcare,” he said.
Providing cutting-edge technology to secure data, he said, “The data control tower will be in the mobile phone and not in the cloud, as other phones have.”
Park also spoke of accelerating its television and electronic home appliances business with a 50-50 market penetration along with its smartphone business in India. “We will achieve this in three years,” he said.
