Vande Bharat Express
impresses a
Truecaller
executive!
Szymon Kopeć
, a Product Director at Truecaller, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share an extensive post of visiting India along with his mother. Kopeć’s post details the experience of travelling in India. One thing that stood out was the appreciation for
Indian Railways
’ Vande Bharat Express that Kopeć said helped “debunk stereotypes”.
“Unfortunately image of India in Poland is mostly portraying slums and overcrowded trains with people hanging on rooftops. Taking a perfectly on-time Vande Bharat debunked some stereotypes,” he wrote in his post.
Vande Bharat Express is a semi-high speed train service with all air-conditioned chair car coaches. It was first launched in 2019 and has increasingly emerged as the face of new age world-class premium travel on the Indian Railways network.
The self-propelled train set makes use of distributed power and boasts of faster acceleration and deceleration, hence reducing the travel time. The train offers aircraft-like passenger comforts and amenities such as personalised reading lights, ambient lighting, bio-vaccum toilets among other features.
Indian Railways is now looking to roll out the sleeper variant of the Vande Bharat Express with features superior to Rajdhani Express trains. The train is currently being manufactured at BEML and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently inaugurated its car body.
In his post on X, Kopeć also spoke of Delhi’s green neighbourhoods and the tech ecosystem in India which impressed her. “Tech ecosystem blew her mind. In Poland we’re so far behind in that regard, while here I’ve shown her that there’s an app for literally anything she imagines + 6 alternatives from competitors,” he wrote.
“She’s home now and I’ve heard that she hasn’t stopped pitching India as an ideal holiday destination to the rest of the family,” he said.
