‘Hua toh hua’: BJP hits out after Congress reinstates Sam Pitroda

Welcome To Latest IND >> Fastest World News

NEW DELHI: Soon after

Sam Pitroda

was reinstated as Chairman of the

Indian Overseas Congress

on Wednesday, the BJP hit out at the Congress insuniating that the entire process of removal and reinstatement was merely an election gimmick, keeping the polls in mind.
Responding to the development, BJP IT cell head

Amit Malviya

took to X and said, “The tormentor of the middle class is back… Congress hoodwinks India, brings back Sam Pitroda soon after elections.

Hua toh hua.”

Pitroda came under fire in May this year for his controversial statements advocating the implementation of an

inheritance tax

law in India and making remarks about regional appearances, suggesting that people in South India “look like Africans,” those in the West “look like Arabs,” and those in the East “look like Chinese.”

“We are a shining example of democracy in the world… We could hold a country together as diverse as India, where people in the East look like Chinese, people in the West look like Arabs, people in the North look maybe white, and people in the South look like Africans. It doesn’t matter; we are all brothers and sisters,” he said.
Following the uproar over his statements, Pitroda resigned as Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress.

The “racist rant” also drew a strong response from the Prime Minister, who in his campaign speech, criticized the Congress for its “divisive” mindset, claiming the party aims to fragment the nation.
“Congress has, time and again, proved that it is against India, and against the people of India,” he said.
