‘In the greed to save power … ‘: Rahul Gandhi slams ‘Kursi Bachao’ Budget

, labeling the Union Budget as a ‘Kursi Bachao’ Budget.
Rahul Gandhi said that the Budget undermines the

federal structure

of India. “This budget is an attack on the

dignity

of the federal structure of India. In the greed to save power, other

states

of the country are neglected and discriminated against,” he said.

Facebook post

, Rahul Gandhi said, “Today, INDIA along with Janbandhan MPs protested against NDA’s ‘Kursi Bachao’ Budget in the Parliament House premises. INDIA will continue to raise its voice to provide equal justice to every state of India.”

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also spoke about the opposition’s protest at the Parliament, criticizing the Union Budget for being against farmers, the poor, and the middle class, and for undermining the federal structure of the country.
In a post on X, she said, “The BJP government’s budget is against farmers, the poor, and especially the middle class. In this budget, the central government has discriminated against the states, which is also against the federal structure of the country.”

Priyanka Gandhi assured that the opposition bloc will continue to fight for the people’s rights. “The INDIA alliance will strongly fight every injustice being done to the people of the country and will continue to raise the voice of the people. Today, MPs from opposition parties protested in the Parliament premises against this injustice,” she added.
The opposition INDIA bloc MPs held a protest in the Parliament complex on Wednesday against the Union Budget. They raised slogans such as “Opposition virodhi kursi bachao Budget murda baad” and carried placards, claiming that the Budget is “discriminatory” in nature.
