India-UK Diplomacy Thrives: EAM Jaishankar Leads Ceremony for Repatriated Temple Idols in London

During his five-day visit to the UK, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar participated in the repatriation ceremony of Yogini Chamunda and Yogini Gomukhi, stolen 8th-century temple idols from Uttar Pradesh’s Lokhari, held in London on November 16. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties, as Dr Jaishankar met with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized the growing partnership between India and the UK, citing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership initiated in 2021. The nations also share a cordial relationship, underscored by ongoing negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement, with the 12th round held in August 2023.
