India has strongly rebuked the Biden administration over comments regarding Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, labeling them as “unwarranted” and “unacceptable.” The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasized India’s pride in its independent and robust democratic institutions while also hitting back at U.S. remarks on the Congress party’s claim of frozen bank accounts affecting their election campaign funds. This diplomatic exchange unfolded just hours after India summoned senior U.S. diplomat Gloria Berbena on March 26, with the meeting lasting for 40 minutes, indicating heightened tensions and exchanges between the two countries.
