, and

in the lead roles.
The first glimpse teaser, titled ‘
Dunki Drop 1
,’ that was shared on SRK‘s official social media handles where he also shared an insight into the film’s heartwarming story of four friends and their extraordinary journey to fulfil their dreams by reaching foreign shores.
In the caption, he wrote, “A story of simple and real people trying to fulfil their dreams and desires. Of friendship, love, and being together… Of being in a relationship called Home! A heartwarming story by a heartwarming storyteller. It’s an honour to be a part of this journey, and I hope you all come along with us. The #DunkiDrop1 is here…#Dunki releasing worldwide in cinemas this Christmas.”
After two back-to-back superhit action movies, this social drama will see the superstar leading the cast to weave together diverse stories of love and friendship, taking the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The emotional aspect of the trailer wooed fans over and they shared their excitement about the upcoming film.
However, all weren’t impressed with the
VFX
used in the film. Many took to their handles to slam the director for using de-ageing VFX work to make SRK look younger in the movie. “Don’t get me wrong i loveee srk and liked the dunki drop 1 too but in my opinion, this overuse of vfx on srk’s face is getting out of hand, like it becomes really jarring at places. just keep it real,” wrote a fan.
Another said, “He looks fine without all the CGI when he has a beard, sad that they feel the need to have his face edited like that.”
That was not the only VFX issues that caught the eye of fans. One even spotted a mistake that was hiding in plain sight. A Twitter user took their handle to post a slow-motion shot of a scene from the film’s trailer that featured SRK in a dance sequence surrounded by people from different nationalitites waving flags. As the camera pans out, some people on the right hand corner seem to disappear in what appears to be a glitch.
The video was shared with the caption, “#Dunki vfx work is pending. Look at right side. Did they need more time?”
Dunki, that is reportedly based on true stories, also features Vikram Kochhar, Anil Grover, and
Boman Irani
in pivotal roles. The film is all set to hit theaters on Christmas day, 2023. This film is not only SRK’s first on-screen collaboration with director Hirani but also his first movie with Taapsee and Vicky.
