The recent surge in attacks by resistance factions against Israeli targets has brought a fresh intensity to the ongoing conflict. A notable incident involved an Iraqi resistance group claiming responsibility for a drone strike on the Israeli Ministry of War in Tel Aviv. Israel, however, has yet to officially acknowledge or respond to this attack on its war headquarters. The Iraqi group announced this strike on Tel Aviv through its Telegram channel, identifying itself as part of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), an umbrella organization of Iran-backed armed groups in the region. The IRI has also claimed multiple attacks on Ben Gurion Airport and a power plant in Tel Aviv. Notably, the group had previously warned of escalating attacks on Israel during the holy month of Ramadan. Additionally, the IRI has targeted major U.S. military bases in Syria and Iraq, citing support for Israel as the motive behind these strikes.
