Film historian Dilip Thakur

was designed by Achrekar and coloured by Balasaheb Thackeray and Raj Kapoor and the Thackeray family were very close.

On the other hand, veteran star Govinda is indeed joining the Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena. The ‘Partner’ actor who has had a couple of meetings with CM Eknath Shinde at his residence and the last photograph of Krishna Hegde of Shiv Sena only crystallized the fact that it is indeed going to happen.
In 2004, Govinda contested the Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat on a Congress ticket and gained the reputation of a giant-slayer by defeating BJP’s Ram Naik. However, he later resigned from the party and opted to take a break from politics entirely.
