‘ may have missed out on winning at the Golden Globes, but she continues to make the country proud as the filmmaker has now been nominated at the prestigious DGA awards.
On January 8, 2025, the nominations for the 77th

Directors Guild of America

(DGA) awards were announced, revealing that Kapadia is in contention for the

Michael Apted Award

for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in First-Time Theatrical Feature Film.

She is competing against other talented directors, including Megan Park for ‘My Old Ass,’ RaMell Ross for ‘Nickel Boys,’ Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel for ‘Armand,’ and Sean Wang for ‘Dìdi.’ The awards will be announced on February 8, 2025. This nomination reflects Kapadia’s skill and brings pride to Indian cinema on an international stage.

Payal Kapadia and the film ‘All We Imagine As Light’ have been widely discussed following their triumph at Cannes, where they received the Grand Prix, one of the festival’s highest honors.
