Shilpa Shetty’s husband and one of the leading businessmen in the country Raj Kundrarecently made his debut as an actor with UT 69. The film was based on his own life, especially the 63 days he spent in jail , when he was arrested for alleged creation and distribution of porn films through apps. Post his release on bail, the actor stayed away from the media for the longest time and was spotted wearing a face mask, only to come back with a film showing his version of the happenings.
It’s trailer was well received but it seems the audience isn’t interested in knowing Raj’s version of things.

As per industry tracker Sancilk, the film made just Rs 10 lakhs on day 1 as per early estimates, and had the overall occupancy of less than 10%. The film received mixed to bad reviews which will also impact the overall business of the film. In fact, most Hindi releases this week haven’t taken a good start, which in turn will definitely help
Chopra’s 12th Fail, which is having a very steady run at the box office. Another beneficiary would also be Tiger 3 which is releasing on November 12, fans who have already seen 12th Fail and who aren’t interested in any of the releases of this week would be more than eager to watch Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif on the big screen. Tiger 3 will start their advance booking from Sunday.
In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Raj had revealed why he featured in his own biopic, he said , “ I needed closure somewhere, there was something inside me that was bugging me. I wanted the world to see what I went through. Somewhere, I want people to see that there are lives which don’t require to go through what they went through. The film is a story of emotions, bonding, the conditions they (inmates) lived in, the food they had etc. I was thinking of turning my notes into a memoir, which is when
( director) told me not to. He mentioned that it has legs to stand on, we can make a movie on it. I found the idea interesting and planned to act on it.”
