Shah Rukh Khan is riding high on the success of
and is all set to release his third film of the year in Dunki, helmed by Rajkumar Hirani. However,
seems to have started off with a slow reception.
Dunki marks SRK’s first collaboration with the maverick director who is known to deliver hits like Munnabhai series, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju. The film is all set for release on December 22 in India while in the US, it will hit the screens on December 21.
Dunki was to enjoy a solo release till Prashanth Neel and Prabhas arrived with Salaar: Part One- Ceasefire on the same date. They were forced to delay
from the original release of 28 September because of post-production issues. Both the films are yet to begin their advance booking in India, but they have opened their advance sales in the USA in limited screens.

As per the latest numbers coming in, Dunki has opened its bookings in 25 locations, with 25 shows and has managed to sell only six tickets. On the other hand, Salaar has opened in just three locations with 11 shows lined up and sold 167 tickets. In the coming days, more assets from both the films will be released and more screens will be added to the mix. From the current trend, it is too early to predict which way the tide will turn. Interestingly, it is noteworthy that when Salaar was to be release in September, its advance numbers were tracking much better than Jawan.
While the makers of Dunki have dropped their teaser, buzz is that there will be many more teaser drops before the actual trailer releases, while Salaar is all set to unveil its trailer on December 1.
Besides Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki also stars
and Boman Irani in the lead, while Salaar has Prithviraj,
and Shruti Haasan essaying the lead roles.
