Plot to kill Salman Khan: Accused produced before Panvel court; remanded to 4 days police custody

The

Navi Mumbai police

, who apprehended Sukha Kalluya, early this week, produced him before a

Panvel court

on Friday. The accused, also known as Sukha Shooter, linked to an alleged plot to assassinate Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has now been remanded to four days of police custody.
Sukha, who was arrested in Panipat, Haryana, is the sixth individual detained in connection with the Salman case.

According to the FIR, he had allegedly planned to use a Turkey-made

Zigana pistol

, similar to the one used in the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, to carry out the attack on Khan.

The case first came to light in June 2024 when police uncovered a plot to target Khan while he was en route to his farmhouse near Panvel. This revelation followed the incident in April, where shots were fired outside the actor’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai. It later came to light that the firing was orchestrated by the

Lawrence Bishnoi gang

with the intent to harm Salman and his family.

The investigation into the Bandra incident led authorities to the plot targeting Khan’s Panvel farmhouse.

On June 1, Navi Mumbai Police arrested four individuals linked to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. According to reports, police authorities revealed that the suspects intended to acquire weapons from a Pakistani arms supplier for the attack.
An FIR was registered against more than 17 people including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, Goldy Brar. The Navi Mumbai Police said the arrested accused were identified as Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna and

Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan.

In light of these developments and fresh extortion and death threats against Salman, security measures have been heightened around his Bandra and Panvel homes. Police and armed personnel have also been deployed at the studios where the actor is shooting for ‘Bigg Boss 18’ and his next movie ‘

Sikander

‘.
On Friday, the Worli Police filed a case in connection to the threat message received by the Mumbai traffic police, demanding Rs 5 crore from Khan as extortion and demanded that the actor “end his long-standing rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi.”
The person who sent the message claimed to be close to Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang and warned, “Don’t take it lightly, if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wants to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, then he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan’s condition will be worse than Baba Siddique.”
