Shark Tank 3: Amit, Namita come at loggerheads for a chronic pain management brand

In the latest episode of

Shark Tank India

3, the third pitchers of the day were Amit Bhayani and Manjeet Singh with their

chronic pain management

platform. They have created an application which helps the user to understand their pain through physiotherapy, yoga and AI. The customer undergoes an assessment through the camera and after that, they receive a report with the consultation of physiotherapists and yoga therapists and also get a customised plan. Their ask is Rs 1 cr for 2% equity.
As the pitchers give a demo of their app, Vineeta participates in the assessment. After that, the result comes 45/100. Vineeta is shocked, ‘itni kharab report? Mera lifetime mein 90 se niche kabhi nahi aaya hai.’ Manjeet shares that they skipped other exercises, that is how. Amit then asks how does it helps with the body pain and determines whether it is just inflexibility.
Namita and Amit then understood their business model and Aman was quite unsure about how they have customer accusations while Anupam asked them about their growth. When asked about their backgrounds, the pitchers reveal they have been former co-founders of

Unicorns

which have been generating more than Rs 100 cr and growing. Aman says, ‘aap yahan aajao, wahan kyun khade ho.’
After further grilling,

Namita Thapar

gives an offer, of Rs 50 Lakhs for 2.5% equity and Rs 50 Lakhs as debt at 10% interest for 2 years. Anupam, Aman and Vineeta back out. Namita says, ‘yeh sab logon se main ekdum disagree karti hu, innko market samajh mein hi nahi aaya hai. Jaise ek mahapursh ne kaha hai iss market ki main hi gundi hu.’ As she continues speaking, Amit says, ‘Namita don’t rush, I am still talking.’ After few more questions, he says ‘technology company meko zyada lag rahi hai rather than pharma.’ Namita slams back, ‘wrong, they are already from tech background, they need to create awareness and that only I can give. Amit gives an offer of Rs 50 Lakhs for 1% equity and Rs 50 Lakhs debt at 12% interest for 2 years. Namita revises her offer, Amit taunts her, ‘Aree Namita aap toh apni

expertise

pe rukiye na.’ Namita changes the equity to 1.5%.

The pitchers go out to discuss. Vineeta asks who will they take? Namita says ‘of course me.’ Aman says they could take Amit as well. Amit tells Namita, ‘Mujhe lag hi nahi raha ki teri zarurat hai unko. Kya help karegi?’ The pitchers return and give a counter of Amit and Namita together, sharks want to go solo. Namita gives a final offer with 1.32% equity. Amit matches the offer but pitchers choose Namita.
