‘This is IPL for you…’: GT skipper Gill after losing to PBKS

NEW DELHI: In a thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter, Punjab Kings (

) emerged victorious over Gujarat Titans (GT) by three wickets.
The match saw an outstanding unbeaten half-century from all-rounder

Shashank Singh

, whose aggressive innings of 61 runs off just 29 deliveries proved crucial in Punjab’s successful chase of the 200-run target. Supporting him was

Ashutosh Sharma

, who contributed with a rapid 31 runs off 17 balls, forming a valuable 43-run partnership with Shashank.

Despite a shaky start for PBKS, losing skipper

Shikhar Dhawan

early in the innings, Shashank and Ashutosh’s aggressive batting propelled the team towards victory, with Punjab ultimately reaching the target with just one ball to spare.

For GT, skipper

Shubman Gill

‘s magnificent unbeaten knock of 89 runs off 48 deliveries was a standout performance. Gill showcased sublime form, guiding his team to a formidable total with six boundaries and four maximums.

Sai Sudarshan

‘s brisk 33 runs off 19 balls provided crucial support to Gill’s innings, but their efforts were in vain as Punjab Kings secured the win in a thrilling contest at the

Narendra Modi Stadium

in Ahmedabad.
Gill minced no words in stating that it won’t be easy if you drop catches on a wicket like this, where defending the total was quite challenging.
“Couple of catches went down. Never easy on a wicket like this when you drop catches. Difficult to defend runs in these conditions. The new ball was doing something. There are always areas to improve. I think 200 was good enough. We were in the game till the 15th over,” Gill said at the post-match interaction.
“When you drop catches, you will be in trouble. The way Nalkande bowled in the last match, we went to him for the last over. This is IPL for you – people who you have not seen will come and win games,” Gill added.
