Two Naxals killed in Jharkhand encounter, operations underway

NEW DELHI: At least two Naxals were killed in an encounter in Bokaro, Jharkhand on Wednesday, the police informed. Several weapons like AK 47 and INSAS rifles were recovered.
The operations are underway.
“Teams of CoBRA 209, CRPF and Police are carrying out the search operation now. There is no information about injury to any jawan,” said CRPF DIG Brajesh Singh.
This comes a day after 16 Maoists were killed in an encounter in Chhatisgarh’s Gariaband.

“This is one of the biggest encounters in the country as a Central Committee (CC) member of the banned Maoist organization, Jai Ram alias Chalpathy, has been killed. Usually central committee members either die a natural death or rarely get arrested. Killing a CC member in an encounter is a big achievement,” SP Rakhecha had told the TOI about the encounter.
Reacting to the incident, Union home minister Amit Shah had said, Another mighty blow to Naxalism. Our security forces achieved major success towards building a

Maoist-free Bharat

. The CRPF, SoG Odisha, and Chhattisgarh police neutralised 14 Maoists in a joint operation along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border. With our resolve for a Maoist-free India and the joint efforts of our security forces, Naxalism is breathing its last today.”
