The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notice inviting applications from eligible
Higher Educational Institutions
(HEIs) for recognition to offer
Open and Distance Learning
(ODL) and online programmes for the academic year 2025-26. According to the UGC, the last date to apply for recognition is April 3, 2025, and the application window opened on March 13, 2025.
The official notice reads, ‘UGC invites fresh online applications from Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) as per Regulation 3(A) and Regulation 3(B)(b) of UGC (Open and Distance Learning Programs and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020 and its amendments for recognition of programmes under Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode and/or Online mode for academic year 2025-26, academic session beginning July-August 2025, and onwards.’
Application timeline and submission details:
- Online application window: March 13, 2025 to April 3, 2025
- Application portal: deb.ugc.ac.in
- Hard copy submission deadline for original affidavit and annexures: April 15, 2025
