Joy and hope fill Pak Hindu refugees in Rajasthan, West Bengal as CAA rules are notified. They were seen shouting slogans of ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Modi Zindabad.’ Celebrations erupted in refugee camps in Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Assam, and WB. Non-Muslims rejoiced as their dream of Indian citizenship becomes a reality. The act was cleared by the Indian Parliament in December 2019 amid violent protests. Now that the notification is issued, the government can grant citizenship to non-Muslim migrants. Migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who came before 2015 can get citizenship. The announcement comes weeks after Amit Shah declared that the law would be implemented. Hindus, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Christian, and refugees are eligible to apply for citizenship. The law could not come into effect because the rules had not been notified until now. The Modi government will now start granting Indian nationality to persecuted non-Muslim migrants.
