U.S, U.K, and French military successfully intercept Houthi drones over the Red Sea. The footage, shared by UK Defence Minister Grant Shapps on his social media handle, captures a Royal Navy warship shooting down a Houthi drone. The joint operation occurred on the night of March 8 and continued into Saturday, March 9, resulting in the downing of at least 28 unmanned aerial vehicles. This retaliatory assault was prompted by Houthi attacks on ships in the international commercial route, targeting the bulk carrier Propel Fortune and U.S. destroyers in the region. The U.S. military confirmed no damage to U.S. or coalition navy vessels, and commercial ships reported no damage. Houthi spokesman Yahya Sarea announced the targeting of a cargo vessel, using 37 drones to target a number of U.S. war destroyers in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
