Erika Eiffel is the most famous person to have married an inanimate object. After a three-year courtship, in 2007, she married the Eiffel Tower. Erika is an advocate for object sexuality and a competitive archer.



When Uwe Mitzscherlich, a native of Germany was informed by the vet that his cat Cecilia was ill, he decided it was time to formalise his relationship with his pet. An actress was hired to officiate and the bride and groom were married.

On one of her trips, she married the wall. Her full name is Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer and her surname means Berlin Wall in German.

Fairground ride

Amy Wolfe from New York ended up having a bit of a rollercoaster relationship with her lover. She married a fairground ride called 1001 Nacht, located at Knoebels, an amusement park in Pennsylvania.



Lee Jin-gyu from Korea married a pillow. The pillow is called a dakimakura, which in English means Dutch wife. The dakimakura, often printed with anime images, is used in bed for a comfortable sleep. The wedding ceremony took place in 2008 and was performed in a traditional style.



Bimbala Das, a Hindu woman married a snake in Orissa. The wedding was attended by more than 2,000 people thinking it would bring good fortune.
