India has aksed all parties to avoid actions that could escalate tensions in West Asia . MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India is distressed over the attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria. The MEA spokesperson said that ‘tensions have potential to fuel further violence and instability in the region.’ At least 16 people were killed in an Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria. Iran has vowed to retaliate and punish Israel after the incident.
